Just as he’s about to jump in front of a bus, he’s saved by Marcus, a charming high school dropout/street musician. The two begin an uneasy friendship when Marcus enlists the musically challenged Troy to become the drummer in a new punk rock band. As Troy’s relationship with Marcus grows, Troy’s father becomes increasingly concerned about his son’s new friendship.

Event Info

Troy, a 300-pound high-schooler, is contemplating jumping in front of a train when he meets Curt, an emaciated, homeless, guitar-playing, drop-out legend in his school. Before he knows what has hit him, Troy has agreed to be the drummer in a new band Curt is forming, despite not playing drums. With a faith in him that Troy doesn't understand, Curt is Troy's nightmare and dream come true, often at the same time.

"You remember the first time you ever went to a rock concert? Ok maybe not the FIRST time but.. the first time where you were completely lost in the music.. hypnotized because the artist seemed like they were on some other fucking planet? Nothing like it.. try getting that feeling/experience down in words. Unreal. And have you ever felt self conscious about everything you’re doing because you felt like everybody was watching your every god damn move, when in reality nobody gives a flying fuck what you’re doing?"
