Winner of the SXSW Audience Award, Fat Kid Rules The World is the story of Troy Billings, seventeen, overweight, and suicidal. Just as he’s about to jump in front of a bus, he’s saved by Marcus, a charming high school dropout/street musician. The two begin an uneasy friendship when Marcus enlists the musically challenged Troy to become the drummer in a new punk rock band. Event Info
This movie will be the final event in conjunction with the Montgomery Art and Music Festival. The two main characters are outsiders that need the help of each other. They build a bond with their new found punk rock band. The film is a comedy that won the Narrative Feature Spotlight Audience Award at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival. We are honored to bring it to Middletown NY!
