Steven, an ex-seminary student, despises the indecisiveness and moral latitude of his mentor Fr. Hayden. Steven forces Father Hayden to confront the morality of his inaction then abducts him and two other parishioners: Ronnie, a pregnant teenager unsure whether or not she wants to keep her baby, and Dr. Jan Reed, an abortion doctor who believes in the value of her work. Before the night is over, each will make choices that jeopardize everyone’s lives. The Problem of Evil creates an authentic and raw context that directly positions itself into the ongoing religious and political debate surrounding abortion. The Problem of Evil explores the nature of individual responsibility, religion, God, and morality as action.

A movie, dinner, and drinks… and debate? Absolutely. Join us for a screening of THE PROBLEM OF EVIL followed by a discussion of the film’s themes with top minds in philosophy and theology. THE PROBLEM OF EVIL crafts an emotionally charged ride into a moral landscape that continues to divide our country today. It explores both the emotional and rational aspects of moral choices, and ultimately asks how we come to decide what is right and wrong, and who can be punished.
